QUALITY AFFORDABLE RENTAL AND HOUSING PROGRAM
The development of safe, affordable housing is critical to the community building efforts of the Prime CDC Housing Program. To that end, the housing plan consist of two types of housing options which are designed to address the housing needs of individuals and families in multi-unit housing developments. These options include transitional and rental housing. Rental housing for the self sufficiency program participants consist of subsidized and market rate apartments and townhouses which are available to families including seniors who have opted not for home ownership. Tenant training includes; money and debt management, unit maintenance, and community relations.
YOUTH RE-ENTRY AND AFTERCARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Prime Community Development Corporation's M-POWER (Making Positive Outcomes While Employing Responsibility) program assists youth ex-offenders and their families by addressing their needs through case management, mentoring, education, job readiness/placement, life skills, parenting skills, GED preparation courses, computer skills training and long-term plan preparation. This program is designed for youth released on a state or federal level and returning to their communities. These services are currently offered to residents of Georgetown, Williamsburg and Horry counties.
FINANCIAL LITERACY AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
Prime Community Development Corporation wants YOU to be in charge of your finances! Our up-and-coming Financial Literacy program, Money Matters, is meant to promote and support responsible and healthy financial behaviors and decisions. Money Matters is a free, in-person financial literacy resource that is composed of a series of workshops and events that lead to financial stability and self-sufficiency. Our ultimate goal is to help you make smarter choices with your money. We encourage all individuals interested in building or enhancing real-life-ready financial skills to participate in this program. Money Matters is financial literacy training that provides courses and other tools on a variety of financial topics, including budgeting, credit scores, credit cards, big expenses, saving, and identity theft just to name a few. These courses are designed for children, youth, teenagers, college students, adults, and seniors.
These workshops are instructed by our staff members who have completed more than 20 hours of financial literacy training. These members are Certified Financial Education Instructors by the National Financial Educators Council. **Upon completion of Money Matters, individuals and families can also take advantage of our one-on-one personal financial counseling/case management services.
IDA/HOME OWNERSHIP PROGRAM
Numerous studies have proven that home ownership is significant to increasing overall community stability. One homeowner can make a big impact! Prime CDC offers the Home Ownership Program for first-time or repeat home buyers. This process guides the home buyer from the beginning (pre-purchase) to the final steps (post-purchase) of the process. The program teaches and prepares the home purchaser for the expectations by offering educational classes and individual/family counseling - pre-qualifying, mortgage requirements, personal credit counseling - to obtaining a mortgage which consists of credit/debt management, property taxes, escrow accounts, etc. The Home Ownership Program also offers workshops for Default and Foreclosure Prevention.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM
The goal of Prime Community Development Corporation (CDC) Community Supportive Services Program (CSSP) is to provide public housing residents and community members with support networks and resources that are vital in the progression from dependency to self-sufficiency. Prime CDC employs professionally trained case managers who assist in identifying areas of social and economic need through family assessments and providing the appropriate services through on-site programming and referrals. This holistic approach allows participants the opportunity to grow and develop skills to enhance their personal and community quality of life.
